9ATBERAX.
With steady march another year Has came and gone for ever; | But then its foot-prints, bold and clear, Shall b^araaed never. And iMteM is, 'mongst high and low, Qa lawß, and flea, and river, WyM>Gro a hand, and tkere a blow, ,TkQ years roll on for ever. TWs towor of troth has reared its crest 4 ' Another cycle higher; 4. And freedom to its foal has pressed Another boK-Atn rather; While snperittitlon's hydra head, WWeh nothing can deliver, * , Has *»ik, whurf cqrauig yoara ahaliJra It out of eightlbr ever, '" ' '".'iHfhThe year bni born, before its close, ' Shall give to thought more motion, And clear the channels, where it flows, Of cant, and servile notion; Shall Blast such creodaaa curse the wori Shall mental serfdom shiver, And lcavo the flag of truth unfurled, • To wave, and brave forever. ■ Then come the years, and go the years, Though with ye I be going, Ye yot shall wipe away the tears From eyes now overflowing, L And Bh'ed, instead of blood, the light, That shall bo shaded never, To guide the feet of man aright, And scatter night for ever.
