Last night. £1000 bail was offered on behalf of the, men accused of attacking Hie Orange procession and refused. They were all remanded until Friday.
Nine more alleged rioters have been arrested, making fourteen in all. The injured in the hospital are pronounced out of danger.
Onß trap of a picnic party, which contained schoolmaster and mistress of the State School and three girls, while crossing the Ashley river on Boxing Day, was capsized and plunged the occupants into the deepest part of the river. They were rescued by the occupants of another trap, after a severe wetting, which with the fright is rather a serious matter for the master and mistress, who are both 60 years of age. The Clergy on the RiotsThl/JEtev. Father Ginaty, preaching in the Catholic Church yesterday, animadverted strongly upon the character of the attack upon the procession. Some other ministers in Christchurch also mentioned the subject in sermons.
