Secocwni has voluntarily surrendered. Washington, December 25. American Protective Polioy. The United States Government have issued regulations placing restrictions on fcbe importation of Australian cattle. London, December 27. Trouble in Turkey over a Priest. A difficulty has arisen between England and Turkey in consequence of an arrest of a priest for translating the English Bible into Turkish. The British ambassador made strong representations, but unsuccessfully. Layard then threatened a rupture of the relations unless the priest was released. Gough's Arrival Uncertain. Calcutta, December 28. No latter news from the front. No news from Generals Gough or Roberts. The arrival of Gough at Cabul is entirely unconfirmed.
