DUNEDIN.

This day. Bishop Moran on Orange Processions.

Good advice to his Congregation. A small cottage in Frederick street was bnrned down last night; it was insured in the Norwich Union for £ 100. The Timara and Christchurch riots were referred to in St. Joseph's and the Congregational pulpits yesterday. At the former Churchj Bishop Moraa said should processions take place in this country similar to those in the Old Land, which used to excite themselves and their fathers to madness, let them take no notice of them, keep put of their way, and on no account suffer themselres to be provoked to commit a breach of the peace. Let them remember they were Catholics and Christians, and that it was their duty to submit to contumely and insults with patience, for such processions processions were offensive not only to Homan Catholics, but to every decent man in the community. Should these processions with certain banners, which were offensive and which he was afraid were intended to give offence take place here no notice should be taken of them, and they should be treated with contempt. The Bishop implored his peoplo to take no part in such discreditable, disreputable proceedings, and on no account to let themselves become participators in street brawls, but, on the contrary, be men of strong minds and of strong wills, and studiously avoid such conduct.
