Phoebe, Warahoe, Kinakint, Little P«t, Mountain, Ohinemnri, and. P«wei alto ran. Kinakina lead for some little dift. tanco, but the place of honor vu goon taken by Little Dick, Littl»fjbhnny second. The race was a good one, beiof yon by about three lengths.
Huedlb Back, Handicap, 15 sots. Diatanet, 2 miles. Entrance, 2 tors.
Mr McGee's Eles, (Fotttr) agtd, lltf 51b ... ... i RolJeston street Co.'s Honesty (Williams) need, 7st 121b ... .. 2 Mr McGteehan'a Hurricane (Cbriq'onsoa) aged, Bst 31b "., - ... 3 Mr Entire's Cetewaje (Matine), agtd, Bit Sib 0 Mr Leonard's Yenua (Taylor), aged, Bit 121b ... 0 Naughty Boy wa* scratched. A good start, with Elsa leading slightly* and Leonard's mare second, was tffVeted. The latter soon pulled up to Elsa, and at the second time past the grand stand Elsa was third. Hurricane leading, and Venus second. Unfortunately on crossing the next hurdle Venus came down, but did not injure young Taylor who rode her. The riderless mare galloped round the course with the rest of the horses. Venus being out of the ratfb, Elsa had everything her own way, and won hands down, Honesty, who had passed Humcane, being second. The winner wag ridden with great skill and judgment by Potter.

Golden Crown won by • length. The Maori crack nowhere.

The race ni woa bj the favorite by a length. .- ' ■' ". ■■-. This concluded the day's programme. During the day there was a large attendance on the course, and a few sharp gentlemen from Auckland with; their games were on the ground reaping quit* a golden harvest. One of these, we an told, netted orer £40. There were several fights during the day, and two persons were arrested for breaches of the peace.
