Last night. A telegram, dated 11th December, has been received from Mauritius reporting a further advance of £4 per ton on all sugars.

The Harbor Board have appointed Messrs Eamsay, Fish, Waleott, Houghton, and Capt. Logan to confer-with engineers as to whether auy works at present in progress can be discontinued pending the Board receiving parliamentary authority to borrow money. A house belonging to Mr Itolleston and situated at Otarea was burned down on Friday. Two boys are arrested on suspicion. The house was uninhabited and isolated. It was insured for £209 in the Sun Office.
