Committee, referred to Mr Halliwell'a illness in terms of great regret, and.stjd he knew that had he (Mr Halliwell) bees' there he would hare felt all the pleMUja that (he himself experienced at teeingVtd many bright happy, faces around him* He also alluded to Mr Gray's appoint* ment to the Tarairu School, and was glad that Mr Halli well's place was so ably filled. He impressed upon the children the-necessity for strict application to theif, work, at the same time stating thatl* was glad to hear such good accounts of them from their head teacher. , '....} ' After the distribution of th» prim tfct Chairman proposed a Vote of thanks to the examiners—Mrs Frazer and the Rev. Mr Neill. This was heartily aoeorded, the youngsters entering heartily into the applause. . " Mr Thorbnrn, after some remarka proposed a Tote of thanks to the teachers who' had, one and all, worked so well for the adTanceia«ut ofthe school. Thoteehil* dreri, he said^ who did not think their teachers deserring of.thanks,werej not jio applaud.
