Thia Asiociation is promoted with the object of securing for its members freehold farms in the Waitnate Plains (or some other suitable locality) on the most bvorable terms and conditions, with a view or supplying to some extent the great and increasing demand fir mall holdings for bona fide settlement. ' As soon as tke block is 'decided upon, and the preliminaries arranged, it will be suroytd into sections of limited area and apportioned, bj lot ot otherwise, according to rules to be agreed upon at a general meeting of the sub* scribing members of tbe proposed Association in selections of a minimum value of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum value of (£400) sterling. The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce tbe Government to grant to members of. the Association such modifications of the land on deierred-payment clauses of the Land Act, 1877, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of those clauses. The.Provisional Directors will also endeavor to^ make provision for. ample reserves for religious, ** educational, recreation, and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon -the Government with the view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration. The payments are to be computed on some 'well-denned, liberal, and easily-understood system 61 deferred payments, to be made byinstalments extending over a period of, say sot lets than ten (10) years. Each trabscribtag member will be required to deposit a sum equal to ten percentum of the total value of the share-of land he applies for before his application can be entertained, and a further ' payment of-two percentum per month on said total value until such time as the block to be applied for is acquired bj the Association} and possession can bo given to applicants, or until auch time as the Association •hall make arrangements with tbe Government for allotting land to tbe subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two percentum do not extend to a farther period.than six months from date of application. All monies received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of Sew Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened in the name of the. Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or s payments to be mado by cheque against such account without the authority and signature of tbe Treasurer, one of the, Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. Agents, or Aoting-Directorß, for the Association will also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district as soon as practicable. , As soon as, in the opinion of tin Provisional Directory, a sufficient number of shares are applied for, a general meeting of subscribing members will be called for the purpose of passing and adopting permanent rules and by-laws or articles of Association for the future guidance of the Association, and also for the election of a permanent Board of Directors and Management. If the Provisional Directors are unable to make satisfactory arrangements with tbe Government, or from any other cause they find that they afe unable to carry out the scheme. suggested by this prospectus, they may return to each subscriber the amount of his subscription-with accrued interest, leas bis shara of the expenses or liabilities then incurred. Ab it is of tbe utmost importance and imperatively necessary that no time should be lost in organising the business J of the Association, the Provisional Directory therefore stipulate that the list of subscribing members should be finally closed not later than the 31st January, 1880. Terms of proposal and application for shores and other information connected with the Association may be procured from the Provisional Directors, the Secretary pro tern, or at the Wellington Working Men's Club, Lambton Quay.
