At the monster meeting of unemployed held to-night 150 were present, principally Dempsey's men. J. Bratne presided. .Resolutions were passed urging Government to go on with the Newmarket contract, to sublet the Railway Reclamation pending the settlement of the dispute with the contractor, and the enforcement of time penalties on Government contracts, also resolutions against assisted immieration and working excavations with falls cf more than 12 feet. The meeting was orderly.
