From the reply of the Waste Land Commissioner to the letter from the meeting here asking information re the blocks in the hands of the Waste Lands Board, it would appear that the only block in the district beyond Hikutain really in the hands of the Board is the Te Aroha The total area of Crown land in the district over which there are timber leases is 117.886 acres.

We hear that a Thames gentleman has purchased the Auckland race horse Golden Crown for the sum of £50, and intends entering him for the principal events.
