This Association is promoted with the object of securing for its members freeh old farms in .the Waimate Plains (or some other suitable locality) on the most favorable terms and conditions, with a view of supplying to ■ome extent the great and increasing demand tot small, holdings for hona, fide settlement. The payments,*)^? to.be. computed on some well-defined, liberal, and ■ easily-understood system of deferred payments, to be made by instalments extending over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each subscribing member will be required to deposit: a sum equal to ten percentum of the total value of the share of land he applies for before his application can be entertained, and a further payment of two percentum per month on said total value until such time as the block to be applied for is acquired by the Association, and possession can be given to applicants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Govern* ment for allotting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two percentum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application. Alimonies received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of New Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no Withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such I account without the authority and signature o'f> the Treasurer, one of the Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. -, , : Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association - will also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district as soon as practicable. ,Aas soon as,; in the opinion of the Provisional Directory, a sufficient number of shares are applied for, a general meeting of sub•flcribins! members will be called for the purpose of passing and adopting permanent rulesand by-laws or articles of Association for the future guidance of the Association, and also for the election of a. permanent Board of Directors and Management.
