A Native on Prison Life.
Te Whiti's men in Mr Calwell's
Hands.
A letter has been received by the natives from the prisoners in Dunedin, giving a description of the prison lifo. The writer complains that the food it insufficient, that the climate is very cold, and that the confinement is very irksome to a freebom Maori. The letter also state* that John Hough, the half-caste, has been placed in solitary confinement for instigating the Maories to refuse work.
