PBOPEKIY TAX. A Bill imposing a penny in the pound as a tax on all property was introduce* and read ft first t?me, the second reading being fixed for 7.30. * Major Atkinson, in reply to a question, said the rotes for the Public Works would be adhered to as closely as possible. THE FATAL GUN-BOAT. The Premier in reply to Mr Speight said the Government would take steps to hare the Thames Naval boat restored if it j was colonial property.
