The workings at the 160 feet level were * visited to-day. In th« drive west then is a nice compact reef a foot or 18 inehea thick, showing a few colors of gold in breaking down. The country is splendid, being in my opinion even better than that met with in the. level above. Thefactof gold being obtained at tkir point does not agree with the theory of the ihot of gold dipping; west, at least not at so great an ';• angle as was supposed. In th"« stbpes over 90 feet level thing! are looking much about. the tame. A ..large quantity of quartz has been broken out since my last visit, and good gold it still showing in tkw " back. In the eastern face of the .drive some gold is being seen in. the retf,,, Am interim retorting of the amalgam from the general crashing took place to-day for tha yield of 5700 as gold. ■■•■•■■* -•
