Last night.
Wool Sales. The Few Zealand and Mercantile Agency Company report, under date London, 9th:—The wool sales closed at an average improvement of l|d to 2d per lb. The principal advance has been in cross-bred, superior greasy, superior combing, washed medium, and inferior washed and scoured. To date 125,000 bales have been sold and 500 bales withdrawn. During the past sales 5,500 bales have been taken for export. Best sides of leather are worth Is Id perlb. A young native was charged at the Magistrate's Court today with having stolen three horses, and remanded.
A Provision for some Friend.
The Government have introduced a Bill to amend the Civil List Act by allowing the appointment of an additional minister, whose salary is to be made up by pro rata reductions on the salaries of the present ministers.
