Mr WitiiiM Wtiie. .This Association is promoted with the oKjeci.-of securing for its members freehold farms in the Wsiroaie Plains (or sonic other suitable locality) on the mosfcfavoable terms : and conditions, wi»h a. view of supplying to | some extent the great and inrrefising demand j for small holdings for hona fide settlement. , As soan as tho block is decided upon, and tb» | prelimin«rieß arranged, it niil be surveyed into sections of liaaited area and apportioned, by lot or otherwise, according to rues to be agreed upon at a general meeting of tbe_ subscribing member* of the proposed Association in selections-of a minimum value of l One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum value of (£400) sterling. The Provirfonal Directors will endeavor to induce the G-OYerament to f nint to •members i of'the Association inch modificaliom of the j land on rif-ferred-pajment clauses of the ; tand Act. 1677, as may facilitate occupation by hona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present -provisions of those clauses. The Pro* visional Directors will also endeavor Mr make provision for ample rtserves for religious, educational, recreation, and public^ health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with the view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration. • The payments are to be computed on some wel!-dffined, liberal,, and easilyurderstood system of deferred payments, to be made by. instalments extending over a period of 3 say not less fhan ten (10) years. Each subscribing member wi 1 be required to deposit a sum 1 equal to ten porcenlum of the total value of the share of land he applies for before his application can be entertained, and a further payment of two pprcentum per month on said total value umil such time as the block to be applied for is ncquircd by the Association, and possession can bo given to applicants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Govern* ment for allotting land to tho subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two i ercenlum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of applies* tion." All monies received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank cf Sew Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened-in the, name of Ihe Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made. by cheque against auch account without the authority and signature' of the Treasurer, one of the Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. Agents, or Acting-Dirpctors, for the A*bo« ciation will also bo appointed in all (he centres of population throughout the provincial district as soon as practicable. As soon as; 'in .the opinion of the Provisional Directory, a sufficient number of shares are applied for, a g/neral, meeting of sub-scribin-j members will be called for the f-ur* pose of passing and adopting permanent rules and by-laws or article* of Association for -the future guidance of the Association, and also, for the election of a permanent Board of Directors and Management. if the Provisional Directors are unable to make satisfactory arrangements -with the Government, or from any other cause they Bud that they are ,unable to carry out the aoheino suggested by thin prospectus, they may return to each subscriber the amoutt of his subscription *it,lt accrued intrregt, lets his share of the expenses or liabilities then incurred. Ab it ib of the utmost importance and im* peratively necessary that no time should be lost in organising the business of the Association, the Provisional Directory therefore stipulate that the list of subscribing n eta* bera should be iinally closed not later than the 31st January, 1880.
