This day. Amounts appropriatsd for Auckland Works. £35,000 for line from Grahamstown to To Arofca. £5,600 Appropriation for Hamilton end. The amounts of appropriation for ex* penditure during the financial year ending 30th June 1880 are, on the Auckland and Thames railways, as follows :•— Kawakawa £10,500, balance for future appropriation £36,500; Whangarei and K«mo £40,000, balance for appropriation £35.000; Kaiptra and Waikato junction £202,000, balance for future appropriation £7,000; Waikato and Thames, from Hamilton Baiiway Station to near Hamilton West £5,600, balance for future appropriation £100,000; WaikatoThames, Te Aroha to Thames £35,000, balance for future appropriation £87.000; Waikato and Taranaki, Te Awamutu to Fnnui River, £5,000, balance for future appropriation £7,000.
The rails required in addition to those already ordered to complete authorised lines in North Islind excluding the Waikato to Taranaki railway line is 14,476 tona, inclusive of fastening for 154 miies; and Waikato to Taranaki railway, 135 miles,-12,690 tons 531bs steel rails.
