1 Medical PUB IS VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. UNDER the distinguished putronoge of His Majesty the King of Italy, at Home, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Ailuire, duted 14th Mar«h, 1878. TESTIMONIALS. Certificate. Sandhurst, the Ifit of March, 1878. I hnve been investigating Messrs Sander tind Sons' Eucalypti Extract since its discovery, and I havo to admit that there is besides it no medicament I know of, of such universal effect on the human system. I observed in tbe first instance that it checks completely all inllnroroaMoni of whatcTer kind—inflammation of the chest, hingp, all throat, affections, such as bronchitis, and diptheria. It alleviates and curea nil pains of rheumatic nature, neuralgia, &c, I hare used it wtyh unparalleled success ir. swellinga, bruises, sprains, wounds of nil kinds, and of most serious nnturo, as well as in all dieorders of the bowels, diarrhoea, Ac. lam fully convinced that the invention of that medicament will meet with the greatest estimation, and I gladly acknowledge its merits for the benefit of the public,—John Cbtjickshank, M.D., L.R.0.5.E., Health Officer. 2nd March, 1878. I certify to the seal of the Council of the City of Sandhurst being affixed to this document, D. Mucdougall, Town Clerk. Statutory Declaration. I, Franz Rnabe, of Ironbark, Sandhurst, in the Colony of Victoria, Australia, do solemnly and sincerely declare, that guided by the desire tbat all who may become afflicted as I wns may bo enabled to take advantage of my Sublimation, I make the following declaration : in the 25th June, 1877, my son Alfred, six years of age, was accidentally hurt with an axe on the knee. lat oneo took all pains to procure medical assistance, by calling at iirst on Dr Austin, who was subsequently assisted by Drß Pen fold and Macgillivr»y. However, in spite of all the combined efforts of the Baid gentlemen, the malady took such a bad turn tbat the patient was lying in uninterrupted wound-fever, and on the 17th August, 1877, the opinion was given by Dr Macgillivray, that an amputation of the injured limb had .bedoine imperative, in order to save life. At this juncture I called "on Hetsrs Bander and Sons, procuring pome of ths-ir Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, ond by the application of tbe same I had the satisfaction of 6eeing my eon within i fortnight, out of all danger, and to-day he is recovered. I n»iy just add that it was when the crisis had been reached, that the extract referred to was first applied. I abstain from expressing my feelings towards Messrs Sander and Sons in this declaration^ but anyone muy imagine them better than I enn describe them in words. And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the Barae to bo true, end by virtue of the provisions of on Act of the Parliament of Victoria, rendering persons making a false declaration punishable for wilful and corrupt perjury—Fhakz Baabe, Decland at Sandhurst, in the Colony of Victoria, this seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seTen, before me, Moritz Cohn, J.P. ITS CLAIM AS A CURATIVE. It has now become the fashion with the in' ventorß or discoverers of remedial agents to claim eoinething little short of infallibility and universality of cure for their respective agents. Messrs Sande* aud Sens do nothing of the sort. They have confidence that their oil possesses many virtues; but the full extent of these they do not know yet. They are now collecting data, and they are most careful and searching in performing this. It is quite Bure then, that their eucalypti oil can fairly assert itself to be a grand panacea for many of the ills that flesh is heir to. In ScarUt, Typhoid, or any co-re of Fever, nothing will protect better against contagion than a few drops of the oil poured in the pnlin of the hand, and rubbed in, in order to liberate the vapors* or sprinkled over the ciothes. The perfume will be noticed for a groat length of time. For Children Attending Schools, the same mode may be adopted. In Cases of Sickness, a few drops put into a saucer, and put into the room will, being an etheric oil, evaporate, and fill the room with the purifying vapor. Are you obliged to Travel! A few dropi occasionally rubbed on the body, will protect against any contagion you may be exposed to, in coming in direct contact with sick persons, or in sleeping in the same room with, or in beds occupied previourfy'by sick persons. All-Hotelkeepers will do well to sprinkle from time to time in drawers, where linen is usually kept, a few drops of the pure essential oil. It produces no spots whatever, as every particle of it evaporates, and nothing remain?. , a In short, where a disinfectant is needed, the pure essential ccualypti oil ought to be the one you have recourse to, aud no family ought, to be without it. For all Wounds, Cute, Burns, Scaldings, Ulcers, and Cancerous Wininds, a piece of linen, wrapped round the sull'eriug part, und moistened with a fsw drops of the eucalypti essence, will slop all pain, and effect a speedy cure. In cases where a piece of linen cannot be applied, the moistening of the suffering part with the puro oil will do as well. In Case of Colds moisten the nostrils with a few drops and inhale the vapour, and you | will feel the immediate relief, and entire rid- j dance of the heat. In all cases where the Lungs may he Affected, tbe above-mentioned process, continually repeated, will be the befit that can be advised. In cases of Rheumatism, a mixture- of one part of the puro essential eucalypti oil with three parts of spirits ot wine, well rubbed ia the suffering port, has acted better than any other remedy. In all cases of Inflammation, the oil may be applied to the part nffected. In severe cases of Toothache of rheumatic origin, the puro essence muy be applied on the external part of the face. In cases of Inflammation of tlieJSyes, apply the puro oil to the outside of the eyelids. Headache aud lihimmaliv Pains in the Head are positively romovtd aud cured by rubbing the oil ou the uli'ecled parts. For many Cases of Severe JBruises the oil has proved the beat remedy. Inwardly used, tufce three or four drops in half a tumbler of water. The essence effects a most surprising change of the whole constitution, correcting indigestion, and creating a healthy appetite. t§?r'NQ other essence is genuine except that in the vials bearing on the labels our , signature mad trade mark.
