Iv the matter of subsidy j referred to your House Committee,* the Secretary haa been instructed to write to the Government for. the sum of £141 6i sd. the amount of subsidy due to. the Hospic«f on the 30ch of June from Government. Tho Secretary has been instructed to write to the Borough Counoii,»nd uppiy for clothing for the inmates of the Old Men's Home, as required. Three complaints were mode by patients in iho women's ward in regard to the food, the cooking, and the muuner in which: the food is served up to them. Your committee, re. commend the consideration of these complaints. The Bccoun.s for llio bust month havo been examined, and we recommend the payment of salaries, £63 12i, and general accounts, £78 4s Bd. Lush's motion to carry out the proposal for increased accommodation when necessary. r Mr McGowan and the liev. V. Lush opoko on the complaints made by the patients iv the female ward of the dirtiness of the cook. Mr Hudson moved, and the Rev. V. Lush seconded that tho services of tho cook be dispensed with as soon us j possible. j Messrs Mcllhono and Mulligan spoke against the adoption of so unfair a course as discharging the cook without tho matter being properly brought before the Committee, and the cook givea an opportunity to defend herself. Mr McGowan defended the action of the House Committee. Mr Mollhone moved that the matter be referred to the House Committee. He had" visited the Hospital 20 times during the last month, and not heard one complaint. Mr Melihotte moved that the ilum fco 5s for night nurse be referred to the House Committee. Mr Mulligan seconded. Mr Comer suggested the withdrawal of the amendment, which Mr Mcllhone agreed to. The report was then adopted. Mr Mcllhone moved, and Mr Murray seconded, that a letter be sent to the surgeon asking him on what authority had he appointed the night nurse. Mr Hudson proposed, and the Eer. V. Lush seconded, I hat Dr Payne be requested to notify to the House Committee of any appointments he may make of extra nurses, etc. The amendment was carried. BATES. The President, Messrs Mcllhone and McGowan were appointed a committee to Jake steps if necessary to organise a demonstration in aid of the Hospital. TJiKUEKS. Tenders for six months supplies for tho Hospital were theu opened. Groceries : Tenders accompanied by a deposit and samples were opened from Messrs Meats and Co., W. Deeble, and Hewin and Bro. The tender of the latter was accepted. Butcher's meat: J. H. Walsh, J. Townsend and G. Dalziel. Mr Walsh[a was accepted. Bread : llollcrson. 'J bis was the -only tender, and was accepted. Milk: Williams, Mirk. Mr Hirk's tender was accepted. Washing : Mrs E. Donnelly, Mrs Julia O'Brien. Mrs Donnelly's tender was accepted. * HOUSE COMMITTEE. The following gentlemen were appointed House Committee for the ensuing month : —The Eev. V. Lush, Messrs McGowan, Meunie md Major Murray. The commilteo then adjourned.
