This day,
A strong feeling exists here against Government handing over five thousand acres of the public estate to the Titanic Steel Company, and a resolution was passed at a public meeting last night, to urge Government and the "House before complying with the demands of the Company to ascertain whether the provisions of the Taranaki Iron Smelting Act 1874, have been honestly complied with. Doubts are expressed as to whether the the Company ever bad the actual capital required by section 6, really available for the purpose to promote which the graut was promised.
