This Association is promoted with the object of securing for its members freehold farms in the Waimate Flainl (or some, other suitable locality) on the" most faTOrable terms and conditions, with a »iew|of Supplying to some extent the great and increasing demand for small holdings for hona fide settlement. As soon as the block is decided uppn, and the preliminaries arranged, it will b« surveyed into sections of limited area and apportioned, by lot or otherwise, according to rues to be agreed upon at a general meeting of the saoscribing members of the proposed Association in selections of a minimum value of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum value of (£400) sterling. The' Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to member* of the Association euch modifications of the land on deferred-payment clauses of tbe Land Act, 1877, ns may facilitate occupation by bond fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of those clauses.' The Pro* visional Directors will also endeavor to_ make provision for ample reserves for religious, educational, recreation, and public^ health purposes, as suggested by the Minuter of Lands to the deputation which lately waited upon the Government with--the view of bringing this scbcmeMinder thoir notice and favorable consideration. The payments are to be computed on some well-defined, liberal, and easilv-uederstood system of deferred payments," to be made by instalments, extending* over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each subscribing member will be required to deposit a gam equal to ten percentum of the total value of the share of land he applies for before bis application can be entertained, and a further payment of two percentum per month on said total value until such time as the block to be applied for is acquired by the Association, and possession can be given to applicants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Government for allotting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthlyT>ay«neuts of two lercenlum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application! . All monies received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of Kew Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account without the authority and signature of the Treasurer, one of the Trustees, and three Directors being first obtained. ' Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the As«o« ciation wilt also be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial district as soon »s practicable. If the Provisional Directors are unable to make satisfactory arrangements with the Government, or from any other cause they find that they aro unable to carry out the scheme suggested by this prospectus, they .may return to each subicriber the amount, of his subscription nith' accrued interest, lesa his share of tho expenses or liabilities then incurred. As it is of the utmost importance and imperatively necessary that no time should be loßt in organising tho bueinees of the Association, the Provisional Directory therefore stipulate that the list of subscribing Kern* bers should be finally closed not later than the 31st Junuutr, 1880. Terms of proposal and application for shares and .other information^ connected with the Association may be procured from the Provisional Directors, the Secretary pro tern, or at the Wellington Worki&g Men's Club, Lanibton Quay.
