Mr Rolleston moved the recommittal of the Land Act for the purpose of adding th« following to section 11: " Pro Tided thstt in the case of lands sold on dvi'erred pay men Is since the first of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, the aforesaid one third shall ceaso as soon as, by such payments together with any payments preriously made, the total amount of one third of the prica of the land has been paid orer as aforesaid." To section 27 to add to tho first paragraph, *' Provided lhat the conditions of the occupation and the price to be paid for the lands within the settlement by the perions placed thereon by the contractor shall be submitted to and approved of by j msh* Governor before any such contract as aforesaid shall be executed." To section 27 to add to tho second paragraph, 11 H?fery -person placed on ony landi as aforesaid by any contractor n-ho has fulfilled the conditions of his occupation shall thereon be entitled to a grant direct from the Crown for tho land ho has become entitled to in respect of bis occupation.
