This Association is promote! with tho object of securing for its members freehold farms in tho Wiiimato Plains (or some othor suitable locality) on tho mo3t favo-abla terms and conditions, with a view of supplying to some extent the great and increasing demand for small holdings for lona fide settlement. As soen as tho block is decidocl upon, and tho preliminaries arranged, it will be suvpeyed into sections of luuilcd area nnd apportioned, by lot or otherwise, nccoHing Jo rues to be agreed upon afc a general meeting of the subscribing members of the proposed Association in selections of a minimum Tnlue of One Hundred Pounds (£100) sterling, and a maximum value of (£4C3) sterling. The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association such modifications of tho land on dcfei red-payment clnuseß of the Land Act, 1877, as may facilitate occupation by bona fide settlors and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the prosent provisions of those clauses. The Provisional Directors will -ilso endeavor to make provision for ample riserrcs for religious, educational, recreation, and public health purposes, as suggested by the Miniater of Lands to Iho deputation which lately waited upon the Government with the view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration. The payments nra to be computed on somo well-defined, liberal, and easily-understood system of defeired payments, to be made by instalments extending over a period of, say not less than ten (10) years. Each, subscribing member wil be required to deposit a sum equnl to ten perccntum of tho total value of the share of land he applies for before his application can bo entertained, and a further payment of two pnrccntum per month on said total value uniil such time as the blook to be applied for is acquired by the Association, and possession can bo given to applicants, or until such Inne as t!*c Association shall make arrangements with the Government for allotting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two rerceaium do not extend to a farther period thun six months from date of application. All monies received are to be paid into the Colonial Bank of New Zealand to the Association's account, to be opened in the name of the Trustees, on fixed deposit bearing interest, and no withdrawals or payments to be made by cheque against such account wiibout the authority and signature of the Treasurer, one of U.o Trustees, and three Direcr.cra being first obtained. Agents, or Acting-Directors, for the Association wi'l niso be appointed in all the centres of population throughout the provincial diMiift us soon ns practicable. As soon as, in tho opinion of the Provi--1 piontil Directory, a sufficient number, of shares applied for, a g-neral meeting of subscribing members will be called for tho purpose of passing nnd adopting permanent riiics nnd by-laws or article? of Asrocinlion for the future guidance of tho Association, and also for the election of a permaneut Board of Directors and Manog^incnt. If tho Provini'Ual Directors arc unable to make satisfactoiy arrangements with tho Government-, or from any other causo they find that they nve unablo to cany out the scheme suggested by this prospectus, they may return to ench subscriber the nraoukt of his subscription with accrued interest, less his share of tho expenses or liabilities then incurred.
