Cricket Match.
THAMES V. COIIOMANDEL.
The annual cricket match between the Thames and. Coromnndel trams eventuated at Panuyni gardens to-day. Tho visitors arrived here yesterdaj', and at nine o'clock this morning both teams left tho Bank of New Zealand corner in busses. On arriving at the ground tho Thames team won the loss, nnd elected to send in tho Coromandelites. Beeson and Mercer then went to the wickets, Burgess and Spencer commencing the bowling. Beeson was speedily disposed of by Burgess. Mercer made a better i stand, but had io succumb to a wellaimed trundle of Lawless, who replaced Burgess. Higginson ninde the only stand for the team, he contributing 14. The others were disposed of for single figures and ducks' eggs. Tho innings closed for 49. Lawless bowled splendidly. The Thames then went to the wickets, nnd ran up a total of 72, Lawless, Murphy and Crurrp making double figures. Fihst Innings. COHOMAHDEt.
