I havo been investigating Messrs Sunder and Sons' Eucalypti Extract since its 'diatcoVery, nnd I hu.ve to admit that there is besides it no medicament I know of, of such universal effect on tho human -system. I observed in tho first instance tbftt it checks completely nil inflammations of whatever kind —inflammation of the chcßt, hinge, all throat, aflcctions, such bb bronchitis, and diptheriu. It alleviates and cures all pains of rheumatic nature, neuralgia, &c, I have used it with unparalleled success in swellings, bruises, sprains, wo- nds of all kinds and of rcoat Feriouß nutuve, as well as in ail dioorders of tho bowels, diarrhoea, &c. . However, in spite of-all the combined.efforts of the said gentlemen, the malady took such a bud turn that the patient wus lying in uninterrupted wound-fever, and on tho 17th August, 1877, the opinion was given by Dr Macgillivray, that an amputation of tho injured limb bad become imperative, in order to save life. At this juncture I called on McEBrB Sander and Sons, procuring .some of thur Extract of tho Eucal) ptus Globulus. and by tho application of tbe same I had the satisfaction of seeing my ton within a fortnight out cf all danger, and to-day he is j-ecovercd. I may just arid that it was when the crisis had been reached, that the extract referred to was first applied. I abstain from expressing byfeelirgs towards Mefsrs Sander and Sous,in this declaration, but anyone may imagine them better than'l can describe them in words. It is quito sure then, that their eucalypti oil can fairly assert itself to be a grand panacea for many of the ills that flesh is heir to. In Scarlet, Typhoid, or any ease of .Fever, nothing wiil protect better against contagion than a few drops of the oil poured in the palm of tho hand, and rubbed in, in order to liberate tho vapors, or sprinkled over the clothes, The perfume will be noticed for a; great length of timo. ' | For Children Attending Schools, the came mode may be adopted. . : In Cases of Sickness, a few drops put into a saucer, and put into the room will, being an ctherio oil, evaporate, and fill tho room with the purifying vapor. Are you obliged to Travel I A few drops occasionally rubbed on tho body, will protect agtu'nat any contagion you uiay be exposed to, in coming in direct contact with sick persons, or in" Bleeping in the some room with, or in beds occupied previously by sick persons. For all Wounds, Outs, Burns, Scalding*, Ulcers, and Cancerous Wounds, a piece of linen wrapped round tho suffering part, and moietsnpd with a few drops of the eucalypti essence, will stop all pain, tjpej effect a speedy cure. In cases "where a piece of 1 jnen cannot be applied, tho moistening of the Buffering part with the pure oij will do as well. In Case of Colds moisten tho nostrils whh ; n few drops and inhalo tho vapour, and you will feel tho immediate reliof, and entire* riddance of the heafc. In all cases wlwre tlte Lungs may be Affected, tho above-mentioned process, continually repeated, will bo the best that can be advisca. In cases of Rheumatism, a mixture of one part of the pure essential eucalypti oil with three parts of spirits of wine, well rubbed iv the suffering part, has acted better khan liny other remedy. In all cases of Inflammation, the eil may be applied to the port affected. In severe cases of Toothache of rheumatic origin, the pure essence may be applied on the external part of the face. In cases of Inflammation of the Eyes, apply the pure oil to the outeide of the eyelids. He.adaehe and Mheumatio Pains in tho Head are positively removed and cured by rubbing the oil on the ullected parts. ■ For many Cases of Severe Bruises tho oil has proved the best remedy. Inwardly used, lake three or four drops in half v tumbler of water.
