REVIVAL OF TRADE IN CORNWALL.
Much excitement prevails in Cornwall respecting the rapid improvement in mining prospects. Perhaps no industry in England is benefiting moro from the revival of trade than Cornish mining, to which a fresh impetus has been given by another 'advance in the price of tin ores, the smelters, who fix the price to be paid by them for the commodity, having just advanced -the standards by £2 a ton." Until recently scarcely any mine in the county was paying its way; many mines were abandoned; miners have been emigrating in large numbers, and relief works have been established in various parts of the county. During the last few weeks, however, tin has been steadily advancing, and there has been a corresponding advance in the price of mine shares, one mine alone increasing in this respect by £54i,000 in two months, and the aggregate value of some half a dozen by £159,0C0.
