ALBURNIA.
Another large haul of specimens atid picked stone was obtained last night., chiefly from the slopes, but I did not ascertain officially the exact amount. Howerer I know it was something over half a ton weight. The mine was visited to day. In the face it was found there was gold showing on the hanging-wall side. Tbere.is a good deal of white quartz about the centre of the lode. In the stopes the show in tho back continues first-class, especially on the hanging-wall side, where gold can be traced a long distance. The highest portion of the stope is now abojlfr 25 feet above the floor of the level. In one portion of the hanging-wall I noticed a length of mullock inside the reef and abutting on the wall. The mullock continues in the reef for about 8 feet, and then appears to merge into the wall. This mullock is, however, full of quartz stringers, and is crushed with the quartz. Some gold is shewing in the branch drive on the footwall leader, This is now a nicelooking body of quartz, perhaps 9 or 10 inches wide, and I -was informed that some specimens were obtained last night.
