Monday

H. Matsot and Co. held a sale of the Jasper'scargo of sugars from the Mauritius and it was the most successful that has taken place for some years. The cargo was sold, duly- paid. There was a veiy large attendance and of 730 packets all were sold but 190 packets. The following prices were realised :—Snowdrop, £46 10s per ton ; finest white crystals, £-15 to £46 ; fine white crystals, £43 to £4410s to £45 10s; white counter £43 10s; yellow crystals £36 los to £37 30s; yellow counters, £38 15s to £45; dark yellow, £35 10s.
