Eodolph Miller, aged about 18 years, is supposed to have killed-Jiis father and mother and then himself. On the alarm being *>iven, the people found Mr 3 Miller oh the floor with her throat cut from ear to ear and quite dead. Mr Miller, an old man, who was ill abed, was found with his throat also cut from ear to enr, besides hating four large deep parallel gashes on the side of his head, besides^ large bruise which it ia supposed he received from the butt end of a gun which was found newly discharged and broken 'ia two, lying on the floor, with blood and hnir on the stock. It is supposed that the gun was first discharged at Ihe old man and then he was struck with it. On the back door steps young Miller wns found on his back with his throat cut also from ear to ear. The father and mother's throats were cut with a blunt carving knife, but another knife was found beside ihe body of the son. The room was full of powder smoke when the people entered. Miller was over sixty years of qrg, nnd was for many years manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Wellington ; latterly he was in Hi« Government lusoracce Department^

The only "children here wen; two, the one found dead and another, both of whom were apprentices in Mills' foundry. There is insanity in the family, another son having recently committed puicido in Greymoulh.
