The motion by Colonel Whitmore for a return of the public expenditure in the several Auckland Counties during the lust ten years was withdrawn on the suggestion of Mr Whitaker, who said the result would not justify the time and expense it would entail. OTAGO LAND SALE 3. A return was ordered, on the motion of Sir F. D. .Bell, of the land opened for sale and the revenue received in Otago during the last two years. Tlio Council adjourned at 5.10 till .7.30. Evening Sitting. At the Council evening sitting, the - District Courts Validation Bill, and the Elections Validation Bill, were read a . second lime.
