Arrived: Botomahana from Sydney, with the outward 'Frisco nmils. An infant of 15 months, named Annie Halls was accidentally drowned iv a creek at Awitu, near Onehuuga on Sunday, during the absence of her parents at church. An inquest was held yesterday on the body of an illegitimate child given birth to by a servant girl 18 years of age, named Sarah Quinn, and found in a water closet, but was adjourned till Monday next, in order to admit of a post mortem examination being made.
32. McGinley was tha winner of the silver cup and £20 yesterday, as the highest scorer in 10, 200, 300, 400, 500 and GOO yards, racing handicaps. O'Connor won nothing.
An important athletic gathering is to take place at Christmas, for which very liberal prizos are to be offered.
