ALBURNIA.

& Find of Rich Stone.

There was a considerable demand for these shares this morning at 30*, and as the day advanced they hardened, 35s being offered for them. In consequence of the sudden activity a reporter visited the mine this afternoon, and was kindly shown through the workings on the 70 feet level by one of the under ground bosses. In the western face the lode is from 6 to 8 feet thick, all fine heavy quartz, and colors of gold are to be seen well disseminated through the stone. On the wall the best gold was to be seen, there being some well defined little veins of gold, which, though the face was obliterated by smoke, could easily be discerned. The appearance is decidedly first-class, and the country also is favorable to a continuation. Back a few feet from the face a small leader branches off at right angles from the reef. Gold is seen in this also, and in the stopes a few feet overhead, at this junction, some 20 or SOlbs of rich stone was obtained —specimens estimated to produce an ounce per pound, gold being left in the solid from which the stone was taken. AH this block is solid, and should the present indications not prove deceptive the company has got some months of prosperous work before it. The gold apparently dips westward. Our reporter was informed that gold was shewing in the eastern end, and also in other portions of the mine, but there was no time iorjin inspection.
