No hope for the Opposition.

Wellington, This day. 'I he Mayor of Thames to-day had a conference with members upon Borough matters.
Therein considerable discussion through the City upon the rote of the House giving a franchise to women. The Government intend placing £1500 on the Estimates to purchase a new diamond drill, which takea out a soiid boro of two inches in diameter—all strata passed through. There is no hope for the Opposition this session, (hough Government is not strong. The Upper House will throw out the women franchise. Great capital is made out of the statements by the Native Minister of money for the Thames County. Explanations will be made by Speight, showing the peculiar circumstances iv which the County is placed. Little business will be done till the middle of nest week.
