Matters goldmining are pretty dull here at preient. Neves, the old Tairua pros* pector is, however, on mood gold, and ig doing well. His claim is at the head of No. 1 gully, and the reef is a mullockj leader about 18 inches thick, He is now negotiating for the purchase of the old Nautilus battery. The gamdiggers and shingle splitters are doing well. Of the former the Lauries have been making £4 per week per man for tome time past. These men are first class gumdiggert. Other men are also doing proportionate]/ well—making at least fair wages.
