THAMES SCOTTISH BATTALION PRIZE FIRING.
The Battalion fired for prizes at the Government raage on Saturday in two squads—B 30 am. and 1 p.m. Ihe ranges were 200, 500, and 600 yards; 7 shots each range. The following are the chief scorei :— Dey 66 points Weir '.. 64 „ Kendall ... ... 63 „
Murray 63 „ A. Newdick ... ... 59 „ There were three prizes, all given by Mr John Leydon, auctioneer. They were won by Weir, Kendall, and Newdick. The match on Saturday also counted as the second aggregate ior His Worship the Mayor'B prize, - and QuartermasterSergeant Kawdon's boat. The latter ii for young shots, who have not previously won a prize in the Battalion. The aggregate scores have not yet been made up, but the Mayor's prise, which will be divided into three, is likely to be won by Downie, Cochrane, and Weir, and the boat by Grey, jun. Vol. Adams pressed Grey very hard for first place, and,, although they are both young shots, they did remarkably well.
