INVERCARGILL.

Last night. At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce yesterday, a telegram was read from the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee to report on duties on articles used in colonial manufactures. The secretary was instructed to reply that the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce is of opinion that the subject of a reciprocation tariff between New Zealand and Australia is worthy of the attention of the Committee us a means for the protection of produce. It was also resolved that the Chamber is of opinion the introduction of certain raw materials for bona fide manufacture free of duty would be beneficial.
