Funeral of the late D. V. Kent.
The funeral of (he late Douglas Vaux Kent took place yesterday afternoon; Deceased being a member of the Thames Naval Brigade, and well known and highly respected in Tolunteer circles generally, the rarioui adult companies turned out in large numbers to follow the remains of the deceased to the cemetery. The rendezvous was in front of the Naval Hall, and the men baring fallen in they were marched off to the residence of Km Kent, Augustus street, where the body; was lying. The coffin having been placed on a flag-covered gun carriage, the cortege marched off in the following order :—« Firing party of Naval Brigade, the united Scottish and Naval Bands playing the " Dead March in Saul," the poffln, chief mourners, Naval Brigade, Thames Bifle Hangers, Thames Scottish Battalion and Hanraki Engineers. The burial service at the grave was impressively read by Mr H. 0. Lawlor. The firing patty then performed their functions, and the procession returned. The exceedingly large attendance testified to the high, esteem in which the deceased was held,.
