The cartings mid* on •Saturday at. Vivian's foundry were turned out of the moulds this morning, and were in ereiy " case thoroughly satisfactory. The-mag-- >v nets made to the order of Dr Lemon were - perfect. He ordered the magnets, bofieving the Taranaki iron sand was of. t a ;; closer grain than the ordinary metal, and would consequently retain the electricity longer. . The ornamental eastings were all accurately made. The bogie engine ' wheels were of the finest description both as to metal and manufacture. Mr. J. Lawson, the Commissioner for Constructed Railways in the North Island, unfed by the train on Saturday night for the purpose of making arrangements for the approaching opening of the lint as far as Strathford.
