. ,'!'-•:'- . Last night. At the Supreme Court, before a special jury, the <!a»e of: O'Farrel 'Mi O'Malley was heard. The-action was brought to recover £2000 for injuries received by the plaintiff through the negligence of the defendant. The plaintiff. Joseph OTarre!,
was employed by: defendant' as 'ir ganger in blasting operations ki Kaiwarra, and : whilst, engaged .in...superintending, the workmen an explosion occurred on the I 28th February,; 1879, 1 through which I plaintiffloitthe use of[one eye, besides suffering other seriousjnjuries to his face and limbs. It was particularly charged against the contractor that the'tamping .irons employed in driving home' the blasting powder were of naked iron, and. not corered with copper as they «hould have been, and that sparks were struck in consequence. A verdict for the' plaintiff for £250 wiis brought in. Opinions on the new Bills. A meeting of the Licensed .Victualler! Association was held this afternoon, when the report drawn up by. the committee was presented. Tho report contained several amendments on the clauses of Bills about to be presented to the House of Kepresentatires by Messrs Saunders and Adams. '
