WELLINGTON.
Last night. Sir Wm. Fitzherbert gare an official dinner to the Legislature Council on Saturday erening.. The Gorernor and various councillors were present. The affair was exceedingly formal, and His Excellency was remarkably stiff. He did cot shake hands with any of the renera-
bles. The dinner was a first-class affair, but contrary to official etiquette Fitzherbert's two sons were present, and this gare rise to some remarks. His Excellency made no speech whatever.
