A petition from coach-builders and wheel-rights of Christchureh praying for an increase of duty ou articles on their trade, was forwarded to-day to Sir George Grey, as senior member for Christchurch by W. Charters, Hon. Secretary to ths Association for furthering and encouraging native industries. A letter from the Association, which accompanied the petition* tzave thanks to Sir George Grey as the Premier, and the Government for tho promptitato in carrying the objects adrocated by them, before the House, as stated in the Governor's Speech. The Committc of the Association, obferved that it was proposed therein to appoint a select Committee to enquire into the whole rnsitter, but they were of opinion that a ltoyal Commission would obtain moro useful results.'
