Spring J with thy voice of comfort sweefc • Which speaks of sunny banks and dells, Whero fairest fltnv'rots 'neath onr feet, In innocence and beauty dwell; An emblem pnro of perfect; bliss Not to be sought in worlds lite tine. Spring! dearest Carry, is a type Of what, some hearts this moment feel; Whilo all without is gay and blithe, Within's a void which none can fill; '<. And like the clouds in April sky, O'ercast the soul and dim tho eye. Yes! cousin mine; all things below, . . Like earthly flowers may cherished be ; But disappointing winds may blow, And cause onr fairest hopes to dfe— The pain of which no tongue can tell, r* - Which has not spoken the word " Farewell.'' M.
