AUCKLAND.
This day. William Rose Acquitsd,
The Judge rough on a Solicitor.
In the Supreme Court in the case of alleged perjury by William Eose at Shortland, the judge directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty, as the document signed was not an assignment to Mcllhone. The prisoner was therefore acquitted.
The Judge drew attention of the Law Society to the fact that a solicitor hid acted as solicitor for one of the parties, and then as a Justice of Peace, in taking the information, and now came as a witness. The Judge condemned this procedure.
