GREY AND THE THAMES SEAT.
To the Editor of the Ethnic Stab.) Sir, —I hare ben considerably amused lately at the efforts of certain anti-Grey politicians in our midst, to cast the apple of disccjrd in this constituency by growling at the shocking manner the late Premier has treated us this in the matter of his sitting for both Chrisicliurch and Ihe Thames. Now, sir, I think if any one has a reason to growl it is the people of Christehurcb, as Sir George is really our member at present, and I say "where could we get a better." But those schemers, those fag 3 ends of humanity, who have endeavoured to cause dissension in this political " Happy Valley," I am sure the people of the Thames will see through their flimsy designs, and wilt not be led away by a hollow cry like this. Amongst the people referred to are one or two candidates who are now fearfully endeavoring to penetrate the murky darkness of the political horizon, or, in other .words, are watching how the cat jumps. And they were such stroug Greyites too ! Awfully strong in tact! ngh I—Yours, &c, A Gkey Max.
