INVERCARGILL.
Last night.
The use of the phosphorous rhodium process in the extermination of the rabbits is being attended with singular success, one or two stations hare already cleared off the peat. The rabbit-killers are discharged and their packs of dogs are threatened with destruction. The remedy is finding general application and high hopes are entertained that ere long the rabbit nuisance will be a thing of the past. The weather is lovely, and agricultural and pastoral operations are in full swing under most favourable auspices. At a monthly parade last night of the Bifle Company, over SO members attending, the question of the suitability of the date fixed for the next volunteer demonstration was considered. It was resolved that; the Captain should ask Major McCotg to telegraph to the volunteer authorities in Christchurch suggesting that as far as the Company was concerned, Christmas week would be rory inconvenient for them to attend, but that nearly every member would be able to take pact in the affair if held at Eaatep.,
