Waitaki Races.

OAMARU.

Last night. Tho above took place at Duudroon. There was a marked falling off in the attendance. The weather was fine, and the races were on the whole well contested. The following arc the result of Ist day:—Maiden Plate~-Fennella 1, Black Prince 2, Magioian 3. Won easily by Fennella. Sis started. The County Plate—Eangitira 1, York 2, Blue Peter 3. Four started, and the race was closely contested by the first three horses. Eangatira stayed longest, and won by half a length. For tho Waitaki Cup—Pinfire 1, Chancellor 2, Libeller 3. Maritana made the running, closely pushed by Unknown. After v. mile and a-half had been traveled Pinfire ran up to Maritana and passed her in the straight, as did Chancellor and Libeller.
