At the E.M. Court this morning some amusement was caused in connection with the case of Maguire t. Merij Taipari, which was a case for the recovery of £2, the amount of a dishonored order. The . defendant, who is a Maori lady of rank, gave the plaintiff an order in Maori on Mr Wilkinson. This order was translated in tho Couttj and it appeared that the defendant, besides requesting Mr Wilkinson to pay the £2, wrote at the bottom that the plaintiff was a cheeky fellow.
