The stewards of the Wellington Racing Club have recommended that the intended race meeting to be held during the ensuing session should take place. The Postmaster-General invities competition designs for the New Telegraph and Post Offices. The premium for the approved design is £100, for the second £50. The tender of Oaks, for £2051 for erecting the powder-magazine at Kaiwarrahas been accepted.
CHBISTCHUKCH. Last night. Out of 28 applicants for steward of the Hospital Ri T. Bell, a late arrival from England, was appointed.
