The Dunedin Fire.
Waters found Guilty of Incen-
diarism.
Committed for Trial on a efcarge
of Murder.
After the inquiry into the cause of the fire the Coroner delivered a lengthy summing up. The jury, after an absence of 3 hours and 35 minutes, found Waters guilty of incendiarism. * * The inquest on the bodies was reopened, and, after a very few minutes* consideration, the Jury found that the fire was owing to the wilful act of Waters, and he was therefore guilty of murder. Ho was then formally committed for trial at the next sittiug of the Supreme Court.

I have just heard on what I have reason to believe is excellent authority, but not officially, that the Governor has intimated to the Premier that after carefully eon* sidering the result of the elections he thinks it' is so doubtful which side has ft majority that he does not feel bound to accept the advice of Ministers until the House declares itself one way or other.
