Cavagriari entered Cabul on Jaly 24, and receired Brilliant receptions. Four miles off Cabul a large, escort of caralrj met him, who entered the -city on elephants, emidst the salute of many batteries. Large crowds assembled who .were most orderly and respestful. The Ameer's demeanor was most fridnAly. News up to August 15 reported all proceedings mo.«t satisfactory. A letter from Burmah states: that King Theba is drinking night and day, and hardly recognisable. v
